Welcome to Somerville Seedlings
Since 1995, Somerville Seedlings has been a major producer of conifer and deciduous tree seedlings for sale throughout Ontario. Our experienced and knowledgeable staff have grown our nursery into the largest supplier of bareroot seedlings in Ontario. With an annual production of over 50 different species and products, you are sure to find the right fit for your planting project.
Our main production facility in Everett, Ontario is home to more than 80 hectares of rich, uniform, sandy-loam soils perfectly suited for bareroot seedling production. Mature windbreaks and over 40 distinct fields create a unique mosaic of growing areas suited for seedling and transplant production. Our modern processing and storage facilities boast three large coolers capable of storing millions of seedlings during our busy Spring season. Recently, a state-of-the-art freezer was added to house an extensive range of tree seed utilized in our production.
Whether it's the seedlings, the service or the professional advice, we strive to ensure you have the right products to make your tree planting project flourish. We are proud not only of our seedlings, but of the strong relationship promoted between Somerville Seedlings and its loyal customers. From small landowners to large Conservation Authorities. Commercial growers to Christmas tree producers.
Whatever your goals we hope you see yourself as one of our customers.
Our History
Somerville Nurseries Inc. is a family owned business that has been growing Christmas trees in the Simcoe and Dufferin Counties since 1950. Knowing that quality-planting stock would be a key to our success, we started our own seedling nursery. For several years now, we have been sharing this success by selling quality seedlings and transplants to the Christmas tree and landscape trades. Today Somerville Nurseries Inc. is the largest Christmas tree producer in Ontario as well as a major supplier of larger landscape nursery stock.
In 1995, our company began preparing to become a major producer of conifer and deciduous seedlings and transplants for reforestation and conservation plantings. We are fortunate to have more than 80 hectares of rich, uniform sandy loam soil with almost unlimited water resource for irrigation. We feel good about the progress we've made but are far from satisfied that the accomplishments to date are sufficient. Our carefully planned growth will continue.
